Our mission since we opened our first hostel in 2011 is to create a positive impact in the communities where we’re located. That’s why all of our restaurant and bar team are locals, most of whom grew up in the very destinations you’re visiting! We aim to provide ample training that our team will be able to utilize to further their careers in hospitality, and a higher-than-average salary plus benefits to ensure our staff is taken care of.

Where is Mad Monkey?
Mad Monkey Vang Vieng is located in the heart of Vang Vieng, within walking distance of many of the town’s attractions. It’s about 1.5 km from Tham Sang Cave, 2 km from the Blue Lagoon and 2.5km from the night market. The hostel is situated on the banks of the Nam Song River, which is a popular spot for activities such as kayaking, tubing, and stand up paddleboarding and also offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
How to get to Mad Monkey
From the railway station in Vang Vieng, walk to the main road and look for the tuk-tuk stand. The ride to Mad Monkey should take about 10 minutes.
From Vientiane City
Taking the standard bus: The bus leaves twice a day: in the morning at 10 a.m., and in the afternoon at 2 p.m. This trip takes about 4 hours.
Taking the train: The train departs from Vientiane railway station and takes about 1 hour to get to Vang Vieng.
From Luang Prabang City
The train departs daily at 1:45 p.m. and 4:10 p.m. from Luang Prabang Railway Station. The ride only takes about 1 hour.
