How to get to Mad Monkey Vang Vieng

The easiest and quickest way to get directly to our hostel is to book pick up service at railway station through us. Just let us know your details in advance so we can have someone ready and waiting on your arrival.

From Vientiane City

Taking the standard bus – The bus leaves twice a day – there is a morning departure (10:00) and an afternoon departure (14:00). Both trips take 4 hours. Bus ticket costs LAK 190,109

Taking train – Train departs from Vientiane railway station. The ride can take as fast as 55 minutes. Ticket costs LAK 550,000

From Luang Prabang City

Taking train – The train departs daily at 13:45 PM and 16:10 PM from Luang Prabang Railway Station. The ride only takes about 1 hour. Ticket costs 119,000 LAK

CUSTOMS & ETIQUETTE

• People don’t typically shake hands when they meet, instead they offer a “nop” — a slight bow of the head with their palms together
• Remove your shoes before entering homes (and even in some restaurants and shops)
• Do not touch a monk (especially if you’re a woman)
• Public displays of affection are generally frowned upon

Cancellation policy: Free Cancellation is available up to 24 hours of check-in time. If you cancel within 24 hours of check-in time, you will be charged the balance of your first night stay.

Absolutely no smoking in rooms. Mad Monkey is a social hostel, to get the maximum value and fun from your stay you should only book if you want to stay in a social hostel. Please be mindful there will be loud music played at the bar until late.
