All rooms have shared bathrooms and access to a shared kitchen, TV lounge, and even a games room.
In reception you will find a notice board for items for sale, events taking place around the city, and even a section to help those searching find jobs. Three times a week this hostel offers their guests free meals including a BBQ night and a chicken and rice night. One morning a week they also provide a free pancake breakfast. Best Hostel Location in Sydney: Sydney Harbour YHA

This hostel is definitely the best located hostel in Sydney, situated right on the harbour. As can be expected, the price of this hostel per night is reflective of the area and the views it offers. The rooftop overlooks the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera house, making the extra money spent 100% worth it.  Free WIFI, aircon in each room, and an ensuite bathroom are included, so no walking down the hall juggling your wash things! Best Sydney Accommodation During Peak Season: M Q Space Pop Up

As most of you know, the New Year sees accommodation prices rocket in Sydney. With thousands of both local and international tourists fighting for the best spots to see the fireworks, booking in advance has never been so important! For this time of year, we recommend staying in university accommodation. Whilst the students have vacated their rooms for the holidays, the rooms are let out to backpackers and travellers alike. Ranging from single rooms with a shared kitchen, to quadruple rooms with a private kitchen, they offer rooms for every type of traveller. All rooms are impeccably clean and fully equipped with cooking equipment, fresh towels, basic toiletries, free WIFI and aircon. Be sure to book in advance, as they book up quickly. This accommodation offers 24/7 security so you’ll definitely feel safe here. There is also an on-site car park for those who have their own vehicle. Best Party Hostel in Sydney: Wake Up! Sydney

As one of the only hostels in Sydney that has an onsite bar, Side Bar, a stay at this hostel is sure to leave you with a hangover and lots of new friends in tow. This hostel is slightly more expensive than other hostels but definitely worth the extra dollars! Located in the CBD, Wake Up! is surrounded by everything you need, and everything else is a short public transport ride away. A fifteen minute walk from Darling Harbour, get ready to take in the spectacular views Sydney has to offer. All rooms feature secure lockers, free WIFI, aircon and power sockets next to every bed. You can stay in private rooms (which feature a TV), mixed or single sex dorm rooms.
This Sydney accommodation offers free walking tours on certain days of the week and also hosts weekly activities. Located opposite Coogee Beach, this hostel offers some of the best views you’ll find in Sydney. Some of the rooms offer balconies to really make the most of the scenery.
