NATURAL ATTRACTIONS TO DISCOVER

Giles Baths

Giles Baths is a natural rock pool known as the “Bogey hole” located at the base of the northern headland of Coogee Beach. Back in the 19th century it was used exclusively by male bathers and is now a popular swimming spot for tourists and locals alike. To access the baths, walk down from the Coastal path in Dunningham Reserve on the northern end of the beach, near where the Bali Memorial stands.

Gordons Bay

Gordons Bay is located approximately 12-15 minutes walk north of Coogee Beach along the well-loved coastal walkway. Protected by an offshore reef, it is a popular spot for both diving and snorkelling. During the summer it gets busy with young people who swim, snorkel, sunbake and generally hang out on the rocks.

Wylies Baths

Wylie’s Baths is located just a few hundred metres south of Coogee Beach, tucked away below the magnificent Maroubra to Bondi coastal walkway. The Baths have 180-degree views of the Pacific Ocean and overlook the famous Wedding Cake Island.
Due to current health advice on social distancing, please contact the business for the most up to date information regarding opening times and services. (As of May 2020)

Clovelly Beach

Clovelly Beach is a small quiet beach popular with families due to it’s protected natural cove and concrete platforms creating easy access to the water. Despite the manmade structures for water access the small beach has retained it’s a natural beauty and is a lovely spot to relax and swim.

Coogee to Bondi Walk – Nature Discovery

So you might need some time on your hands for this one but it’s absolutely worth it we promise! This cliff-top coastal walk traverses six kilometres from Coogee Beach to Bondi Beach (or visa versa). This walk is the most famous (and most beautiful) of the Sydney Coastal Walks. As you walk you’ll be treated to stunning scenery, great swimming spots, picturesque rest stops and 4 of Sydney’s most incredible beaches.

Coogee to Maroubra Beach Walk

This beautiful coastal walk is less popular than the better known Coogee to Bondi walk but should absolutely be on your list of things to do! The Coogee to Bondi coastal path is all about stunning beaches and dramatic coastline, while the Coogee to Maroubra coastal walk has a slightly different feel with lots of rock pools and cool rock formations along the way. The walk follows the cliff front from the Southern end of Coogee beach and continues along the coastline with a section of waterfront rock hopping along the bay. It’s a great area to discover if you’re looking to escape the crowds and do a little swimming and sunbathing away from the sand.

Little Jack Horner

Little Jack Horner is located right in the heart of Coogee beach with beach and Wedding Cake Island views. It’s open from first thing in the morning till late serving everything from your morning coffee to your last evening cocktail and everything in between.

Coogee Pavillion Rooftop

Coogee Pavillion has been a popular place for locals and visitors since it’s re-development a few years ago. Come summer, the rooftop is one of the best places in Sydney to head for a Sunday session with friends, whether you are fresh from the beach or looking for a comfy spot to take in the sunset with a cocktail in hand.

Coogee Bay Hotel

This laid back and popular drinking hole has an incredible beachfront location and plenty of space. The hotel has multiple different areas within it including the popular beer garden and live music venue so there’s something for everyone regardless of your vibe.
