TINI Cafe + Bar

As its name suggests, TINI Cafe + Bar is a tiny, two-story cafe found in the heart of Russian Market, otherwise known as Phsar Tuol Tom Poung. The community was dubbed as such after a large number of Russian expats lived in the area during the 1980s. It remains one of the most popular areas in the city, as it boasts of many delicious restaurants, a huge market selling every souvenir you would ever need, and more.

Ironically enough, TINI is actually pronounced tee-nee, meaning here in Khmer. This cafe is chock full of coffee finds, with takeaway options available. You can choose one of your favorite from their espresso bar, extracted with Feel Good’s Tini blend. Delicious favorites include:

  • Espresso ($1.75)
  • Cortado ($2)
  • Americano ($2.50)
  • Cappuccino ($3)
  • Latte ($3)
  • Flat white ($3)
  • Green tea latte ($3)

There are also pour-over (both single cups and pitchers available if you come with a few friends), as well as unique cold brew coffee that are brewed with Feel Good’s Pakson Lao beans. Their most interesting is certainly the Orange + Soda (4), which is made with their signature cold brew, orange, palm sugar, and soda.
If you are more of a night owl, be sure to check out this cafe after dark and enjoy their every day happy hour from 5-7 p.m. – there are buy one get one on their house wines and cocktails as well as buy two get one free on all other drink (25 percent off any bottle of wine, as well).

Mad Monkey Insider Tip:

Be sure to ask for no straw – this cafe has yet to kick it’s plastic and all of the iced drinks were served with one. You can tell the TINI team in Khmer, “at yo tro yo,” meaning, “no straw!”

Treehouse Cafe

Treehouse Cafe is a small coffee shop that is fairly new (only a few months old) to the caffeine scene here in Phnom Penh. It only consists of six tables and a handful of chairs, so be sure to get here early to pull up a seat. This quaint cafe is right next to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, making it the best spot to grab a cup of coffee before going to the museum.
