Discover the Best Surf Breaks of the Island

Lombok is known for its great surf breaks that are perfect for beginner and intermediate surfers. Some of the famous ones are Kuta Lombok Beach, Gerupuk, and Selong.

In order to reach these surf breaks, you can take a boat from Gerupuk. Once you are there, you will see many local surf shops where you can arrange a boat, which costs around 50k IDR per person.

Don’t worry if you are a beginner — Lombok is one of the best places to learn how to surf as you will find relatively less crowded spots compared to Bali. You can arrange a surf lesson for about 300k IDR from one of many surf schools on the island and rent a board for 50k IDR on the beach from surf rental shops.

One of the top things to do in Lombok is hiking at Mount Rinjani. It is a 3,726m-tall (12,224ft) active volcano known for its epic hiking trail with spectacular views of a crater lake. In order to complete the entire trail, you need to join a 2-day tour that includes one night of camping on the mountain.
