Why you should join the Madness
We aren’t your typical party hostel — we want to show you an epic time by immersing you in the local culture and connecting you to the communities you’re exploring. Our socially responsible hostel has projects in Asia that directly supports the locals — building water wells, creating education funds, providing fair employment for our team, and so on — which we’ve found is the best way to effect change. Your stay with us contributes to these efforts.
Our story begins with three backpackers — Steve, Tom, and Alex — who came to Cambodia in 2010. They quickly fell in love with the country and its people, however, the good times they were having in Phnom Penh were contrasted by the poverty that they came face-to-face with each day. Wanting to do something to give back, they had the idea to create substantial, sustainable, and positive change in the country to help other travelers experience its wonder. People thought they were mad, dubbing them the “Mad Monkeys”.
And thus, Mad Monkey was born and has quickly expanded since. Starting in 2011 as a single hostel in Phnom Penh, travelers were drawn to the vibrant atmosphere and social responsibility at the core of the company. Today, Mad Monkey is one of the largest hostel companies in Asia, serving over 350,000 guests per year in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. We continue to rapidly grow as more hostels, property owners, and partners adopt Mad Monkey’s way of delivering a truly amazing customer experience with a social purpose.

Great place to stay if you want to have fun times, make friends and have a good location to explore Siargao.The staff was friendly as well. Especially Jovan, who makes the party nights exciting and gives good recommendations where to eat, drink and go out. He also looks out for you inside and outside of the hostel when you need him.Edwin was amazing as well, as he was funny at the bar, was great to talk to and made our nights at the bar just as great as possible.

We recently booked a party boat tour with Mad Monkey Siargao, and it was an unforgettable experience! The food was absolutely amazing, with a wide variety of delicious options that kept everyone satisfied throughout the trip. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment—special shoutout to Generose, who took excellent care of all our needs, and the bartender, who crafted some of the best drinks we've ever had.Jovan was incredibly helpful during the sign-up process, making everything smooth and easy. We also had the pleasure of meeting the general manager, Sir Adriane, whose warm hospitality added a special touch to our experience.Thank you, Mad Monkey Siargao, for a fantastic time! One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in, mostly down to the staff. The staff were amazing, they were very kind and went above and beyond for anybody staying there, always looked after us and were there to help with anything we needed. We knew all their names and they knew ours which just goes to show the connection they have with their customers.Also the hostel was in a great location, had a nice pool, always had things arranged at night, free shuttles to the night markets and free bicycles to rent.Would recommend to anybody!!
