Thanks to social distancing restrictions your normal fitness routine might be a lil shaky right now. Don’t worry! We’ve got you covered with Sydney’s best running routes just outside the door and beyond.

COOGEE – MAROUBRA – 5.8km running route

2.9km one way, 5.8km return
The Coogee to Bondi coastal path is the perfect place to go running if you want to take in stunning beaches and dramatic coastline while exercising although bear in mind that beauty does come with some stairs! The path follows the cliff front from the Southern tip of Coogee beach and continues along the waterfront until reaching Maroubra Beach.

COOGEE TO CENTENIAL PARK – 6km running route

3km one way plus additional inside park, 6km return
Centennial Park is the city’s largest Parklands, covering 360 hectares and is a popular local spot for running/cycling. The park is home to a multitude of ponds filled with ducks and swans as well as lovely picnic spots. It’s approximately 3km to get to the park so this is a great run if you’re looking for a longer track. Within the park you can take a number of different paths or follow the 4km track around the outside of the park.

COOGEE TO BONDI – 12km running route

6km one way, 12km return
This iconic running track is a must do at some point during your stay in Coogee (or if you don’t have the energy for running it’s a great walking spot too). The 6km coastal path takes the form of a cliff top track featuring stunning views, beaches, parks, bays and rock pools. A challenging but incredibly rewarding run that may leave you breathless at times!

COOGEE TO CLOVELLY – 4km jogging route

2km one way, 4km return
This shorter (but still relatively tough) run is part of the longer Coogee to Bondi run above. The stunning scenery should keep you motivated but be warned that the run is fairly steep and can be busy at peak times so you may find it harder than you think to make it the whole way to Bondi.

COOGEE OR MAROUBRA BEACH TO MALABAR BEACH – 10.6K Run

5.3km one way, 10.6km return (Coogee – Malabar) or 2.4km one way, 4.8km return (Maroubra to Malabar)
For those really feeling energetic a run from Coogee Beach down to Malabar Beach is an incredibly rewarding experience. However if you don’t have the legs for the whole distance it’s possible to start in Maroubra for the shorter run to Malabar and back. The main path takes you on a continuation of the Coastal Walkway from north Maroubra through the rugged but spectacular Malabar Headland National Park however upon reaching South Maroubra there are a few options including either coastal run (unpaved) or inland run (1km shorter).

THE BAY RUN – 7km Running Track

Ok we know this one isn’t extremely close to Coogee but if you have time up your sleeve The Bay Run is definitely worth checking out. The Bay Run covers the area around the Iron Cove Bay just to the inner west of Sydney CBD and is one of Sydney’s most popular running tracks. The run is relatively easy, with flat terrain and lovely water views throughout.
