Day 1: Hanoi – Sapa – Cat Cat Village

Meals: lunch, dinner

6:30 AM — Bus pick-up from your hotel

Depart for Sapa — about 5 hours on the highway.

12:30 PM — Arrive in Sapa, check in at the hotel and have lunch

2:00 PM — Walk to Cat Cat village

Visit the H'mong village of Cat Cat and learn about the customs and habits of ethnic minorities. Visit Cat Cat waterfall and the hydroelectric power plant built by the French in the early twentieth century.

6:30 PM — Dinner at the restaurant

Then you are free to explore Sapa.

Day 2: Trekking – Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van

Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

7:00 AM — Breakfast at the restaurant

8:00 AM — Trek to Y Linh Ho village and on to Lao Chai

Hike through the rice terraces along Muong Hoa Stream to Lao Chai, the village of the Black H'mong minority, with spectacular views of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range.

12:30 PM — Lunch at Ta Van village, then check in and rest

Visit local villages

In the afternoon the tour guide takes you to visit the villages of the local people, with terraced fields and streams.

4:00 PM — Back to the homestay for a cooking class with the locals

Rest, then learn to prepare and cook dishes with the locals.

6:30 PM — Dinner with the dishes you made

Overnight at a homestay in Ta Van village.

Day 3: Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Supan – Sapa – Hanoi

Meals: breakfast, lunch

7:00 AM — Breakfast at the homestay

Trek to Giang Ta Chai and Supan villages

An 8 km morning walk to visit these two Red Dao villages. Giang Ta Chai is popular with travellers who want to experience colourful traditions and customs.

12:00 PM — Lunch, then rest at the homestay

2:00 PM — Car back to Sapa

3:30 PM — Bus back to Hanoi

8:30 PM — Arrive in Hanoi, end of tour
