How to get to Mad Monkey Nacpan Beach

To get to Mad Monkey Nacpan Beach, the cheapest and most common route is to fly to Puerto Princesa since most major domestic carriers fly here daily. Another option is flying directly to El Nido via AirSwift – however direct flights are more expensive and are only advisable if you book your tickets far in advance.

Should you choose to fly into Puerto Princesa, you may take a bus (8hrs) or van (5-6hrs) to El Nido. When you reach El Nido town, you can take a tricycle to Nacpan Beach which will take you around 45 minutes.

After arriving at the main entrance, walk to the left for about 200 meters until you see the Mad Monkey Nacpan Beach signage.

Mad Monkey Nacpan Beach

I stayed at Mad Monkey Napcan Beach whilst I’m travelling around the Philippines. The beach is stunning and the actual hostel itself. The rooms are a little bit rough but that’s to be expected with a hostel so it was nothing new. The staff were all super friendly and a joy to be around. It’s a great hostel to get to meet new people and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. My only slight criticism is the fact that the hostel is cash only and I wasn’t told before hand thus didn’t bring sufficient funds with me (luckily I found out on my last day that there’s another hotel a bit of a walk up the beach that has an ATM !!)

Stayed here for 3-days and loved every moment! It’s the only hostel in Nacpan beach and is the best place to stay for cheap accommodations and meeting travellers from all over the world. Josh, Remy, and Bri always keeps everyone acquainted and makes meeting friends so easy! We stayed at one of the private rooms and had no issues.During the day you can lounge around at the front of the hostel and have a chill time. As soon as evening hits, get ready for a wild time ;)DON’T MISS THE BOAT TOUR. It’s totally worth it as it’s quite different from the ones offered in El Nido and your hostel friends will be there with you .

Let me tell you first thing: don’t choose mad monkey if you are looking for a quiet vacation or a luxurious stay. This place does not offer any. But what it does offer is, a beach view to die for, evenings with crazy parties and mingling with fellow travellers all around the world. The bed sizes were very good, toilets were cleaned multiple times through the day. You should bring your own towel as they charge for it. You should also bring enough pesos, as their conversion rate is quite low. I would suggest you to be a light traveller, because you need to walk for 300 meters on the sand, which isn’t easy with suitcases.I am a mad monkey fan and would love to explore other hostels from them. Cheers xxx

My stay was pleasant. Location is remote but right on a very beautiful beach.Would like to specially thank Russel, who went above and beyond on keeping my birthday tradition of helping/feeding kids. On my birthday he gathered lot of kids from around the village with who I enjoyed the ice cream. Without his kindness it wouldn’t be possible. The smile on those kids faces made my vacation even more memorable!

Great location, with a stunning beach right in front of the hostel. The parties are insane fun, and facilities at the hostel are also on pint. Special shout out to Cody for making my stay extra special!

I stayed at this Mad Monkey hostel, at the Nacpan Beach, for many days, almost a week spontaneously. To my opinion, it's the hostel life as it should be on the books. The quality of the beds are great with mosquito-nets, and the shared bathrooms are good and clean to use. On top of that, this hostel (Mad Monkey Nacpan Beach) is located next to the beach. You wake up with the sea, and at sleeping hours you can go to bed just after a short swim in the sea. To my experience as a world traveller, this is nowhere possible (because all the commercial resorts are taken over the best beach-places). Location is super.Especially I had amazing evening experiences in the bar. So I saw Cody cheering up the crowd as his life was depended on it. We had really enjoyed his daily-designed games and his personality marked my evenings during this holiday. Next to that we'd danced all night long on the tunes of DJ Brown Meister. He's great and he endless brought us in to the night.I will come again, definitely, also regarding the value for the price. I can recommend everybody to go here. Maybe a bit remote, but from downtown 'El Nido' it's easy to let you transport by shared van (around 600/700 pesos 1-way) or go by you're self with a rented scooter (around 1 hour driving, road near Nacpan Beach is al little but muddy, easy to find in downtown). As said, it's next to the beach, maybe a bit much sand but the spot (5 star resort location) and friendly employees of the hostel overrules everything. Wifi works, it was possible for me to work. Free kajacking is possible.
