Mad Monkey Loyalty Program - Terms & Conditions

The Mad Monkey Loyalty Program (“Program”) is designed to reward guests for their continued support across Mad Monkey hostel locations. By enrolling in the Program or using any associated benefits, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

1. Overview

The Program consists of four membership tiers:

• MEMBER – Upon joining, before any Stays are completed
• MAD – After your first Mad Monkey (unique) property stay
• MADDER – After your third Mad Monkey (unique) property stay stay
• MADDEST – After your fifth Mad Monkey (unique) property stay

All tiers come with specific benefits, which may vary by location and are subject to availability.

2. Eligibility

• You must be 18 years of age or older to join.
• The Program is free to join.
• Each individual may maintain only one loyalty account.
• The Program is for personal use only and cannot be transferred, shared, or combined with any other account.

3. How to Join

• Guests may enroll through the Mad Monkey website, mobile application, or directly at hostel reception.
• Upon enrollment, you will be assigned the MEMBER tier and can level up based on booking activity and can level up based on qualifying Stay activity as defined in Section 4.

4. Qualifying Stays and Program Integrity

Definition of a "Stay": "A ‘Stay’ is defined as one or more consecutive nights spent at the same Mad Monkey Hostel location, regardless of check-in/check-out activity or the number of separate booking transactions made. Multiple bookings made for consecutive nights at the same hostel will be considered a single ‘Stay’ for the purposes of tier progression and reward eligibility."

Rules on Consecutive Nights: “To ensure fairness in the Mad Loyalty program, guests may not check out and check back into the same hostel within a 24-hour period to trigger a new ‘Stay.’ If a guest has multiple consecutive bookings at the same property, these will be consolidated into one (1) qualifying stay for the purpose of leveling up (e.g., three separate one-night bookings in Manila count as one stay, not three).”

Qualifying for Tier Advancement: “Tier status (Mad, Madder, Maddest) is earned based on the number of unique, non-consecutive Stays completed. A new ‘Stay’ at the same location which has previously been stayed in, does not qualifyfor tier advancement.”

  Redeem 1 free night (minimum stay is 2 nights) at any Mad Monkey the first time you visit a new country after unlocking Madder status.

  This is a single-use perk and can only be redeemed once per member.

  Applicable only to dorm bed bookings.

• Free Birthday Stay (1 Night) in Southeast Asia only. Australia is excluded.

  Enjoy 1 free night to celebrate your birthday

  Your free night must be used within 30 days before or after your birthday.

  Applicable only to dorm bed bookings

• Perks subject to availability

MADDEST (Unlocked after your fifth hostel Stay)

• All MADDER Perks, plus:
• Free 2 Nights in a New Country (One-Time Reward)

  Redeem 2 free nights (minimum stay is 3 nights) at any Mad Monkey the first time you visit a new country after unlocking Maddest status.

  This is a single-use perk and can only be redeemed once per member.

  Applicable only to dorm bed bookings.

• Free Birthday Stay (2 Nights) in Southeast Asia Only.

  Celebrate with 2 complimentary nights around your birthday

  Your free night must be used within 30 days before or after your birthday.

  Applicable only to dorm bed bookings

• Free Birthday Stay (2 Nights) in Australia Only.

  Celebrate with 1 complimentary night ON your birthday night ONLY.

  The free night can only be redeemed on the night of your actual birthday.

  Applicable only to dorm bed bookings

6. Redemption Guidelines

• All perks must be claimed by contacting our Customer Support team or speaking directly with a hostel reception team member.
• Free night benefits must be booked in advance and are not valid for walk-ins or retroactive claims.
• Benefits cannot be combined with other promotions, offers, or discounts unless explicitly stated.
• Some perks may be limited by location or availability.
• Blackout Dates: Certain loyalty perks (including but not limited to free nights, birthday stays, and event access) may not be available during peak periods, public holidays, or special events (“Blackout Dates”). These dates may vary by hostel and are subject to change without notice.

7. Limitations and Changes

• All perks are subject to availability and subject to change at any time without prior notice.
• Mad Monkey reserves the right to modify or cancel specific perks, program tiers, or terms at its discretion.
• Benefits have no cash value and may not be exchanged or sold.
• Perks are non-transferable and are only valid for the account holder.
• Program Misuse: “Mad Monkey Hostels reserves the right to audit member accounts and merge consecutive bookings into a single stay at its sole discretion. Any attempt to artificially inflate stay counts through ’split bookings’ may result in the forfeiture of rewards and/or a reset of the member’s tier status.“

8. Account Management & Termination

• Mad Monkey reserves the right to verify member eligibility and activity at any time.
• Accounts found to be in violation of the terms, including abuse or fraudulent use, may be suspended or terminated.
• Any unused or unredeemed perks will be forfeited upon termination.

9. Privacy

• Participation in the Program is subject to Mad Monkey’s Privacy Policy.
• By enrolling, members consent to receive marketing, operational, and loyalty-related communications via email, app notifications, or SMS.
