Day 1: Hanoi

Welcome to Vietnam! Touch down in historic Hanoi, check into the hostel, and enjoy some free time to settle in. Tonight, kick things off with a welcome drink at the hostel to meet your crew. End the night with optional free karaoke and a pub crawl.

Day 2: Hanoi

Get to know the chaotic charm of Hanoi on a guided walking tour led by the local team. Stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake, marvel at St. Joseph's Cathedral, and cap off the tour watching trains squeeze past on iconic Train Street. (Vietnamese coffee tasting — optional add-on). Day 6: Ha Giang Loop (Day 1)

Wake up in Ha Giang, rally your crew, and ride straight up into the mountains. Day 1 delivers your first taste of loop energy: dramatic panoramic views, winding mountain passes, hidden waterfalls, and crisp high-altitude air. Settle into a local homestay for the night.

Will I be the only solo person?

Definitely not. 82% of our guests come solo. The whole product is designed for it.

What's the age range?

Most guests are 23–31. Nobody under 18, nobody over 39 on these specific trips.

Is this like a guided tour?

No coach buses. No 60-person mega-groups. Max 20 people, real backpacker hostels, free time built in.

What if I don't drink?

Plenty of guests don't. The crew always plans non-drinking options for every night.

What if my plans change?

Plans change, and that's totally okay. Swap your trip dates, gift it to someone, or save it for later with our Lifetime Deposit Guarantee.

What happens after I pay the deposit?

You get an email with your booking reference. Once 5 travellers have booked, your trip is confirmed and we'll email you the green light to book your flights. The remaining balance is then automatically charged to the same card 7 days before departure — no action needed.

When is the balance due?

7 days before departure. We'll email you a reminder with a payment link.

What if my departure doesn't reach the minimum?

Every departure needs at least 5 travellers to run. If it hasn't reached 5 by 30 days before departure, we cancel it and refund your deposit in full, automatically — you don't need to do anything.

I used a creator code — what do I get?

You're entered into our prize draw to win a 7-Day Indonesia ALL IN Trip, and 2 free nights are added to your Mad Monkey Loyalty account shortly after booking. The free nights are valid for 3 months from your booking date.

What's your refund policy?

If you cancel: your deposit is non-refundable, and the balance is refundable up to 60 days before departure, 50% up to 30 days, none after that. If we cancel because the departure didn't reach its 5-traveller minimum, you get a full refund automatically.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes — it's a hard requirement. Cheap and easy with SafetyWing or World Nomads.
