Sleep is optional. Stories are guaranteed. Ten days across the very best of northern Laos: swim the turquoise pools of Kuang Si Falls and wander the golden temples of Luang Prabang, camp on a mountain top above Nong Khiaw and sleep in a river village in car-free Muang Ngoi, then hit Vang Vieng for caves, kayaking, ziplines, tubing and a sunset paramotor flight over the karsts. Seven of your nine nights are in Mad Monkey beds, so the crew and the parties come built in.

FAQ

Will I be the only solo person?

Not at all. 82% of our guests come solo, and the trip is built for solo travellers.

What's the age range?

Most guests are 23 to 31. Trips are 18+ and nobody over 39 joins.

Is this like a guided tour?

No. No 60-person coach tours: groups are capped at 20, you stay in Mad Monkey backpacker hostels, and free time is built in.

What if I don't drink?

No problem. The crew plans non-drinking options every night.

What if my plans change?

You can swap your dates, gift the trip to someone else, or save it for later with the Lifetime Deposit Guarantee.

What happens after I pay the deposit?

You get a booking reference by email straight away. There's no minimum group size, so the trip always runs. If fewer than 5 travellers are booked 10 days before departure, we'll give you a heads-up and you can cancel if you'd rather travel with a bigger group.

When is the balance due?

7 days before departure. It's charged automatically to the card you paid the deposit with, and we email you a reminder beforehand.

Is my departure guaranteed to run?

Yes, from the moment you book.

I used a creator code. What do I get?

You're entered into a prize draw for a 7-Day Indonesia ALL IN trip, and 2 free nights are added to your Mad Monkey loyalty account, valid for 3 months from your booking date.

What's your refund policy?

The $99 deposit is non-refundable. The balance is fully refundable up to 60 days before departure, 50% refundable up to 30 days before, and non-refundable after that. If we cancel a departure, you get a full refund automatically.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, it's required. SafetyWing and World Nomads are good options.
